ADEE Communities of Practice

Communities of Practice (COPs) provide ADEE members and annual meeting delegates with a valuable opportunity to continually share and explore particular areas of clear focus and interest to the educational community

The COP initiative has been initiated by Prof Michael Botelho. The COPs are not only content driven by key themes in oral health education, research and policy but are encouraged to create  language specific sub-groups or their own COPs to broaden the engagement across the ADEE membership.

Each COP has a designated chair or chairs, regularly reviewed aims and objectives, and a clear record of the development and support needs of the educational community

Like SIG chairs, COP chairs are required to meet formally with the ADEE executive as a core ADEE stakeholder group so as to evolve the work of the COPs and understand their value to the educational community

Converting a SIG to a COP
If a SIG is clearly well-attended, and has produced useful educational outputs for the community, then the SIG leaders may apply to convert to time-limited SIG, to a longitudinal Community of Practice

Want to convert your SIG to a COP? Find out more here

The COP activity and scheduling within conference sessions is overseen jointly by Professor Ina Schuler, Professor Sibylle Vital and Professor James Field

If you are interested in starting a COP email administrator@adee.org in the first instance.
