Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide ADEE members and annual meeting delegates with a valuable opportunity to share and explore particular areas of focus and interest over a time-limited period.
Each Special Interest Group has a designated chair or chairs, pre-agreed aims and objectives, and a defined lifetime.
Special Interest Group chairs are required to meet formally with the ADEE executive as a core ADEE stakeholder group so as to evolve the work of the Special Interest Groups and understand their value to the educational community
Continuing a productive SIG
If a SIG is clearly well-attended, and has produced useful educational outputs for the community, then the SIG leaders may apply to convert to time-limited SIG, to a longitudinal Community of Practice
Want to start a SIG? Download our guidelines at the bottom of the page
The SIG activity and scheduling within conference sessions is overseen jointly by Prof Ina Schuler, Prof Sibylle Vital and Prof James Field.
