Clinical assessments and entrustment decisions in dental education are traditionally based on the judgements of supervisors, yet students’ readiness for independent practice is observed by many others in the educational and clinical environment. This workshop explores how input from different perspectives (such as peers, patients, support staff, and assessment committees) can be meaningfully incorporated into entrustment and assessment processes, within and beyond the context of working with Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs).
After a brief introduction including examples, participants work together to identify relevant contributors in their own contexts, explore tensions and added value, and design feasible strategies to integrate diverse feedback informing entrustment decisions. Plenary discussion focusses on practical implications for curriculum design, faculty roles, and the organisation of assessment and decision‑making processes.
The workshop emphasises designing workplace‑based assessment processes that bring together input from multiple observers to generate meaningful evidence for entrustment decisions in clinical learning environments.

15:10 Plenary discussion
15:25 Wrap up, Dr. W. A. Fokkinga & Drs. E. Hissink
After participating in this workshop, participants are able to:
Analyse which stakeholders offer relevant and complementary perspectives on student performance in (clinical) dental education.
Explore and weigh tensions, risks, and benefits associated with incorporating multiple stakeholder inputs into entrustment decisions.
Design a context‑specific approach to integrating multi‑stakeholder feedback into learning, assessment, and entrustment processes, within or beyond an EPA framework.
